Why won't Siri work on your HomePod?

Quick answer

Usually it's one of three things: "Listen for Hey Siri" is off, the HomePod lost its network connection, or it needs a restart. Check those in order and Siri typically comes back.

Say this

Hey Siri, are you there?

How it works

  1. 01In the Home app, open HomePod settings and confirm "Listen for Hey Siri" is on.
  2. 02Check the HomePod is on Wi-Fi and your home hub is responding.
  3. 03Unplug the HomePod for 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
  4. 04Make sure it's not set to a focus/Do Not Disturb that suppresses Siri.

Did this work for you?

If Siri doesn't get it

If it still won't respond after a restart, remove the HomePod from the Home app and set it up again — a fresh setup clears most stubborn Siri issues.
