How to use Siri with VoiceOver

Quick answer

Siri works alongside VoiceOver, reading results aloud and responding to voice. If speaking aloud isn't practical, turn on Type to Siri to interact entirely by keyboard.

Say this

Hey Siri, turn on VoiceOver

How it works

  1. 01Toggle VoiceOver in Settings > Accessibility > VoiceOver (or ask Siri).
  2. 02Use Siri normally — it reads responses aloud with VoiceOver on.
  3. 03For silent use, enable Settings > Accessibility > Siri > Type to Siri.
  4. 04Adjust Siri's spoken responses under Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri.

If Siri doesn't get it

If VoiceOver and Siri speech overlap awkwardly, adjust Siri's "Spoken Responses" setting so it prefers on-screen text, and tune VoiceOver speaking rate in Accessibility.
