Turn on subtitles on Apple TV with Siri

Quick answer

"Turn on subtitles" into your Siri Remote and Apple TV enables captions for what you're watching; "turn off subtitles" hides them. You can also say "what did they say" to jump back about 15 seconds and briefly show captions for the line you missed.

Say this

How it works

  1. 01Hold the Siri button on the Siri Remote
  2. 02Say "turn on subtitles" or "turn off subtitles"

If Siri doesn't get it

Subtitle availability depends on the title and app. Set caption style and language in Settings > Accessibility > Subtitles and Captioning.
