Translate a menu with Siri and the camera

Quick answer

Based on Apple's announced Visual Intelligence, you can point your camera at a menu or sign and have the text translated on screen. What's supported depends on your device, language pair, and region. Open the feature and check options in Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri.

Say this

Translate what I'm looking at

How it works

  1. 01Confirm Visual Intelligence in Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri
  2. 02Point the camera at the text you want translated
  3. 03Read the translation shown on screen

If Siri doesn't get it

Camera translation is part of Visual Intelligence, an Apple Intelligence feature that is device- and region-dependent. Use the Translate app as a fallback by typing or speaking text.
