Can Siri summarize a long email?
Quick answer
On Apple Intelligence–capable devices, open the email and use Summarize at the top of the message, or ask Siri to summarize what you're reading. You get the key points in a few lines. This is a newer Apple Intelligence feature and availability depends on your device and region.

“Hey Siri, summarize this email”
How it works
- 01Open the email in Mail on a supported device.
- 02Tap the Summarize control at the top of the message.
- 03Or ask Siri to summarize the email you have open.
- 04Read the short summary, then open the full thread if you need detail.

If Siri doesn't get it
If you don't see Summarize, your device or region may not have Apple Intelligence enabled yet — check Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri. This page is based on Apple's announced behavior and not yet device-confirmed.
