Skip songs with Siri using AirPods

Quick answer

"Skip this song" while your AirPods are in and Siri jumps to the next track in whatever's playing. You can also say "play the previous song" or "skip two songs." This works in Apple Music, Podcasts, and most apps that support playback controls, so you never reach for your phone.

Say this

Skip this song

How it works

  1. 01Make sure your AirPods are connected and in your ears
  2. 02Say "Hey Siri" or press and hold the stem, then ask to skip
  3. 03Use "previous song" or "skip two songs" to move around a queue

If Siri doesn't get it

If Siri doesn't respond, confirm "Hey Siri" or press-and-hold is set up for your AirPods in Settings > Bluetooth, and that they are charged.
