Set a timer with Siri on your Mac
Quick answer
"Set a timer for 10 minutes" and your Mac starts a countdown shown in the menu bar and Notification Center. Siri confirms the length out loud, and you can add time, pause, or cancel by asking. Macs run one timer at a time, so finish or cancel one before starting another.
Say this
“Set a timer for 10 minutes”
How it works
- 01Turn on "Ask Siri" in System Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri
- 02Say "Hey Siri" or press the Siri key, then say how long you want
- 03Watch the countdown in the menu bar; ask Siri to pause, add time, or cancel

If Siri doesn't get it
If Siri doesn't hear you, check the microphone input in System Settings > Sound. The Mac runs one timer at a time, so cancel the current one before starting another.
