Have Siri read your last text
Quick answer
"Read my last text" and Siri reads your most recent message aloud, then asks if you want to reply. Say your reply and Siri reads it back before sending. Ask "read my messages" to hear unread ones, or "do I have any new texts" to check without opening anything.
