Open two apps side by side with Siri on iPad

Quick answer

"Open Safari" and Siri launches the app on your iPad. Siri opens one app at a time, so to work side by side, open the first app, then drag a second from the Dock or use the multitasking menu to enter Split View. Siri can't arrange Split View itself, but it's the fastest way to launch each app.

Say this

Open Safari

How it works

  1. 01Wake Siri and say "open [app name]"
  2. 02Once it's open, drag a second app from the Dock
  3. 03Use the multitasking controls to set Split View

If Siri doesn't get it

Siri launches apps but can't arrange Split View by voice. Use the Dock or the multitasking menu at the top of the screen to place the second app.
