Fix Siri not working in your car

Quick answer

If Siri won't respond in the car, the cause is usually the connection or microphone. For CarPlay, reconnect the cable or Bluetooth and confirm it loads. Then use the steering-wheel voice button, since road noise can block "Hey Siri." Check that the car's microphone, not the phone's, is being used.

Say this

Hey Siri

How it works

  1. 01Reconnect CarPlay (cable or Bluetooth) and wait for it to load
  2. 02Press and hold the steering-wheel voice button to trigger Siri
  3. 03If still silent, restart the car's system and your iPhone

If Siri doesn't get it

Confirm Siri is allowed when locked in Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri, and that CarPlay is permitted in Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy if that's on.
