Why does Siri say "I'll need to continue on your iPhone"?

Quick answer

Siri says this when the request needs a screen or an unlocked device the current one can't provide — common on Apple Watch, HomePod, and CarPlay. Finishing the task on your unlocked iPhone usually resolves it.

Say this

Hey Siri, continue on my iPhone

How it works

  1. 01Pick up your iPhone and unlock it to complete the action.
  2. 02For results that need a display, the iPhone shows the rest.
  3. 03Make sure the iPhone is nearby and on the same Apple Account.
  4. 04Some requests simply can't finish on a screenless device by design.

If Siri doesn't get it

If it happens constantly, check that your devices share the same Apple Account and are on the same network, and that the iPhone isn't in a locked-down or low-power state.
