How to change what Siri calls you

Quick answer

Siri uses the name on your contact card ("my card"). Edit that card's name or nickname — or tell Siri "call me [name]" — and it will address you that way.

Say this

Hey Siri, call me Alex from now on

How it works

  1. 01Open Contacts and find your own card ("my card").
  2. 02Edit the first name, or add a Nickname field.
  3. 03Or just tell Siri "call me [name]."
  4. 04Set "my card" in Settings > Contacts if Siri doesn't know which card is yours.

If Siri doesn't get it

If Siri keeps using the wrong name, make sure the correct card is set as "My Card" in Settings > Contacts, then update the name or nickname there.
